Packaging unit for semi-finished lenses

The Automatic Packaging Unit for Semi-Finished Lenses is dedicated to large scale packaging requirements of semi-finished lenses.

It packages 720 lenses per hour by choosing the correct box type out of seven box types. After being correctly matched to box, the lens is packaged and sorted into 12 doubles storage magazines of 15 packaged lenses each, according to several different criteria that is operator set. Through the use of this machine with the Fully Automatic Pad Printing Unit for Semi – Finished Lenses, complete control and packaging is obtained with almost no operator intervention.

By adding several options of diameter, centre thickness, and curvature measurements, the machine can be used for packaging single vision and multifocal semi-finished lenses.

Our returns for manufacturing reasons decreased dramatically once the machines were installed.

Thanks to the well-studied conveyors layout, the machines are fed in a simply way, in particular via deviations to regulate the flow at the entrance of the machines. 

We found in A&R equipment the solution to face a difficult challenge : continued growth, expanding shifts (weekend & night), training of good quality control operators, combined with seasonal fluctuations (holidays, promotions…) made our QC operations difficult to manage.

When we first deployed the new dispatch envelope, our marketing department was anxious to hear feedback on customer acceptance.  The reaction of the opticians to our new envelope was very positive.  They particularly appreciated the cleanliness of the packaging and its professional appearance.  In short, the acceptance was excellent.

We are making good use of our new promapper in our production and as a pleasing result we have also improved the quality of our surfacing line output.

I use ProMapper every day to check the quality of my lenses. It's really a fundamental help in maintaining a high level of product quality.
